Starting the Stroll

Today begins my stroll from booth to booth at ISC West. Truly, it is a gallop so I won't miss products that I have committed to view. Funny part about these tradeshows, there are some who call a week before the show wanting some booth time. Good idea, but not going to happen.

I have sort of set up some standing rules about booth visits. Take no commitments before March 1, but within two weeks, or so it seems, the calendar is full. Then, there are those that want to meet off the show floor. Good luck with that. There is so much going on in the exhibit hall, getting away for lunch isn't even an option any more.

Day One: There are a few products that I want to make you aware. My first five stops this morning following the traditional Axis breakfast are at STANLEY Security, STANLEY CSS, Cyberlock, AlertEnterprise, Louroe Electronics, Dotworkz and Digital Watchdog. The afternoon is just as packed.

Here are a few products that I anticipate seeing over the course of the next three days.

OnCam:
Oncam will demonstrate its 360-degree fisheye camera technology. Oncam's patented technology enables high-resolution recording of the entire fisheye view, independent of what an operator is doing, allowing images to be processed during playback as though they are live. During playback, these images can be dewarped and virtual cameras can be generated, enabling the viewer to pan, tilt and zoom around the entire scene.

Hanwha Techwin America:
You know the company by the name of Samsung Techwin. Same terrific products, same knowledgeable people, just a different name. Megapixel imaging just seems to get bigger and better. Hanwha is expanding their line of megapixel imaging solutions with the introduction of a new 5MP IP Bullet IR Camera (SNO-8081R) and 5MP IP Vandal-Resistant IR Dome Camera (SNV-8081R). They feature HD image quality at 30 frames per second – with H.265 compression to dramatically reduce bandwidth and storage requirements.

Fiber SenSys:
You wouldn't game with your security system, so there is no reason to gamble with perimeter protection. Fiber SenSys will be showing solutions for all perimeter projects. Bet you didn't know this, but they are the originators of fiber-optic intrusion detection.

Platinum Tools:
If you are an integrator and technician in the field, you might be interested in the Big Mouth. Platinum Tools is proud to announce the launch of the new Big Mouth Tool Bag (P/N 4006). The durable Big Mouth Tool Bag is perfect for carrying your tools to the job site. Big Mouth includes six spacious interior and exterior pockets for storage, is made with water-resistant canvas construction with nylon stitching for durability, and collapses flat for storage when not in use.

    Luma x20

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.” 3
